Change the Look of the Windows XP Start MenuFor me, one of the features that give Windows XP an edge over earlier flavours of Windows is the enhanced Start Menu. However, an individual's perception of such changes is largely a matter of personal taste. Perhaps you preferred the older, Windows 9x Start menu style? If so, the good news is that you can revert back to the Classic Start Menu in just a few clicks.
1. Right-click the "Start" button and select "Properties" from the context menu
2. In the properties window, choose "Classic Start menu"
3. Click "OK" to exit the properties window.
The Start menu should now look and function like it did in earlier Windows versions. Going back to the XP Start menu is just as easy. Simply follow the procedure above, but choose "Start menu" rather than "Classic Start menu" in the properties window.
