Display Volume Control in the Windows XP System TrayThe Volume Control icon may not be displayed by default on Windows XP systems. However, it is simple to configure your system so that the Volume Control icon resides in the system tray for easy access. As the name implies, the Volume Control allows users to adjust volume settings for their computer.Here's how to display the Volume Control: Firstly, click "Start" and then "Control Panel". The next steps will depend on what view your Control Panel is displayed in. If the Control Panel is in Category View:
