We focus more on general problems and not specific ideas. That way you can come up with your own solution/idea to the problems.
Why? Because when making something really useful, I think it’s more important to validate not the idea itself that solves the “problem”, but the actual problem. The idea has to solve a genuine and important problem. Doing it this way, one can focus more on a problem that rings personally true and is more passionate about the idea later.
So lets focus on problems that need to be solved and upvote what we think are the most important ones.
This is a spin-off of SomebodyMakeThis , but they focus on specific ideas and not general problems.
A general problem can have several solutions. We can discuss and validate if a problem is significant enough to warrant a solution, and you can come up with the solution itself.

I love it
Awesome idea, the key to a great business is to identify need first, not the other way around. This should make things easier

A problem in nyc is different than Aberystwyth but I do like the idea.
Any place where ppl can post/share their problems?
